Product Description
Wooden Abacus is a traditional educational toy which has been teaching people to count and taking care of arithmetic long before calculators. This abacus has a wooden frame and wooden beads. There are 10 rows of 10 beads in each row. Each row is suspended on wooden rods which are well secured into the wooden frame. Red, orange, yellow, green and blue beads run smoothly and make a pleasing click as they touch each other. This is a beautifully simple strong example of a very old accounting system and a wonderful way to introduce your little one to addition, subtraction and multiplication.
This is a very colourful abacus and a lovely example of this type of toy. There are many ways you can use this educational toy. Simple counting 1 by 1 or in 2's etc. You can count 1 to 10 then use the second row to count in 10's. There are many different systems which can ultimately handle very complicated addition, subtraction and division. Colour recognition is another great way to use this learning toy.
